Has Crypto Adoption Really Changed Web3 Ads?

I've been noticing more people talking about how crypto adoption is reshaping Web3 advertising platforms, and I couldn't help but wonder if it's really as big of a deal as some say. I've always been curious about how much of this is just hype and how much is actually changing the way ads work online. So I thought I'd share what I've seen and ask if anyone else here has gone through something similar.
When I first heard about crypto adoption being tied into Web3 ads, I honestly didn't get it. Ads are ads, right? Why would crypto suddenly make such a big difference? But after spending some time reading up on it and trying to connect the dots, I realized it's not really about the ads themselves but more about how the money flows and who controls it.

The Pain Point
If you've ever dealt with online ads before, especially on traditional platforms, you know the struggle. High fees, middlemen, lack of control, weird policies that seem to change overnight. And if you're someone who's into crypto or runs anything remotely connected to blockchain, you've probably faced even more restrictions. Some networks either don't allow it at all or they push you into a tiny corner where visibility is super low.
That's been my frustration for a while. I've tried running campaigns in the past and always hit roadblocks when it came to anything crypto-related. Either payment methods didn't line up or the platforms themselves didn't trust crypto projects.

A Personal Test and Insight
A few months ago, I started digging into Web3 advertising platforms just out of curiosity. At first, I didn't take them seriously. I thought it was just another buzzword thing. But what caught my attention was the way these platforms actually rely on crypto adoption to function.
For example, payments can be done directly in tokens without needing to go through banks or endless processing delays. Publishers actually get their cut without waiting weeks. And as someone who's been on the receiving end of delayed payouts, that alone feels like a real step forward.
I also noticed something else. The targeting in these Web3 platforms seems to be less about spying on you and more about being transparent. It's not perfect, but it feels different from the endless tracking we're all used to. I'm not saying it's flawless, but the idea of not being fully tied to centralized ad giants refreshes.
I tried running a small test campaign with crypto payments just to see how it worked. Honestly, it wasn't smooth from day one. There were glitches and I had to ask a bunch of questions. But compared to the hoops I've had to jump through in Web2 systems, it still feels like progress. And the best part was, I didn't feel like I was constantly under review or being flagged just because I mentioned crypto.

A Soft Solution Hint
So here's my takeaway. Crypto adoption really does fuel Web3 ad platforms in a way that makes them different from traditional setups. It's not about flashy features, it's about breaking away from gatekeepers and having more direct control.
That said, it's not perfect. If you're expecting something super polished like Google Ads, you might be disappointed. But if you're tired of endless restrictions and you're open to experimenting with something new, it might be worth giving these platforms a shot.
I'm not here to convince anyone, just sharing what I've noticed and what I've tried. If you want to dig deeper, I came across a write-up that explained it better than I ever could. You can check it out here: Crypto Adoption Fuels Web3 Ad Platforms .
So my question is, has anyone else here tested these Web3 ad platforms with crypto adoption at the core? Did you find it easier, or did you run into the same issues we always see with new tech? I'm curious if my experience is just beginner's luck or if this is actually a sign of where things are going.
