Anyone figured out best channels for Web3 ads?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. Every time I see a new Web3 project pop up, I wonder how they actually get people to notice them. It's not like traditional marketing works the same way here, right? So I started around asking and testing a few things myself to understand the best channels for Web3 advertising without getting lost in all the hype.

Where things start getting confusing
The biggest issue I ran into was figuring out where the actual audience hangs out. In Web3, people are scattered across so many platforms. Some swear by Twitter (or X), others say Discord is everything, and then there are forums, niche communities, and even ad networks I had never heard of before.

I tried a bit of everything at first, but honestly, most of it felt like shouting into the void. Either the engagement was low, or the people interacting weren't really interested in the project. That's when I realized that just being present everywhere doesn't really work.

What I tried and what stood out
After experimenting for a while, a few channels started to stand out more than others. Twitter was decent for visibility, especially if you engage consistently. Discord worked better for building a smaller but more loyal community. Reddit-style forums were surprisingly useful too, since people there actually discuss things instead of just scrolling past.

But one thing I didn't expect was how useful crypto-focused ad platforms could be. I used to ignore them, thinking they were too “ad-heavy,” but they actually helped bring in a more targeted audience. Instead of random clicks, I started seeing people who were already interested in Web3.

If you're curious, I found this breakdown of best channels for Web3 advertising quite helpful when I was trying to compare options. It's not perfect, but it gave me a clearer direction on where to focus instead of spreading myself too thin.

What seems to work (at least for me)
From my experience, it's less about finding one “best” channel and more about picking 2–3 that actually fit your project. For example, if your project is community-driven, Discord + Twitter makes sense. If you're trying to get early traction fast, adding a crypto ad network into the mix can help.

Also, consistency matters more than anything. I noticed that even average channels start performing better if you show up regularly and interact like a real person instead of just posting updates.

Final thoughts
I'm still figuring things out, to be honest, but I'd say don't overcomplicate it. Start small, test a couple of channels, and pay attention to where real engagement comes from. Web3 audiences are smart—they can tell when something feels forced.

If anyone else has tried different platforms or found something that works better, I'd honestly love to hear about it. Feels like we're all just experimenting here anyway.
